Business Associate Program Overview

First USA’s Business Associate Program is a fast track management program which focuses on giving highly talented students with strong technical and analytical backgrounds in-depth exposure to a specific bank card area.  The program promotes high visibility, significant levels of responsibility, and exceptional opportunities for career advancement.  See how what you’ve learned can be applied to one of these areas….

Policy Analyst. Responsibilities include strategic analysis, process reengineering, behavior modeling and forecasting in areas such as Cardmember Services (CMS), Credit Policy, Customer Support Division (CSD), Marketing Analysis, or Risk Management. 

Financial Analyst.  Responsibilities include modeling, forecasting and analyzing portfolio dynamics such as loan balances, revenues and profitability.  The Financial Analyst position is part of a rotational program within First USA Finance that entails spending two separate nine-month rotations in various Portfolio Forecasting & Analysis teams.

Systems Analyst.  This is a rotational program in which participants are involved in three consecutive assignments within the Information Services department.  These positions are team oriented and lead to multi-discipline technology and business experiences that build your career knowledge base.  Responsibilities include analysis and serving as a liaison between the Systems and Technology departments and a specific First USA division.

Marketing Manager. Marketing managers are responsible for the management of a specific line of credit card product or if they work in our Relationship Management department they are responsible for managing a series of partnership accounts.

Education, Experience, and Skills

A GPA of 3.2 or higher.  Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field like operations research, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, management information systems, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance or any specialized curriculum that is either technically or analytically based.  Knowledge of statistical software (SAS) and SQL a plus.  For marketing managers a degree focusing on business, management, marketing, public relations, communications, or economics.  Strong project management skills.  Evidence of leadership, initiative, teamwork, and results orientation preferred.
